Our Ingredients

Our recipes use the highest quality raw ingredients, sourced from Canada where possible. Our facility is located in St Marys, Ontario, Canada in the middle of Ontario’s agriculture belt. We are ideally situated for local ingredient sourcing throughout Canada and the USA.

Each of our ingredients and ingredient suppliers are evaluated through our Nutrace program. We evaluate incoming ingredients for a variety of quality, safety and nutritional aspects.

Our Ingredients

  • Oatmeal (GI 53)

Oatmeal is obtained in the manufacturing of rolled oat groats or rolled oats. Oatmeal is an excellent source of highly digestible carbohydrates, protein and nutritional fibre.

  • Olive oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols)

Olive oil is a vegetable oil obtained from the olive. Olive oil is regarded as a healthy dietary oil because of its high content of monounsaturated fat (mainly oleic fatty acid, an omega 9 fatty acid) and polyphenols. It is a blend of virgin oil and refined virgin oil. It commonly lacks a strong flavour.

  • Omega 3 fatty acids

Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) that have their first double carbon bond at the third position in their chain, the n-3 position. Some of these fatty acids are essential for metabolism, but the body cannot make them, such as linolenic acid (18:3 n-3), or not in sufficient quantities to promote maximum health, such as docosahexaenoic acid DHA (C22:6 n-3).

  • Omega 6 fatty acids

Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) that have their first double carbon bond at the sixth position in their chain, the n-6 position. Some of these fatty acids are essential for metabolism, but the body cannot make them. An example is linoleic acid (18:2 n-6).

  • Omega 9 fatty acids

Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) that have their first double carbon bond at the ninth position in their chain, the n-9 position. In pets, omega-9 fatty acids such as oleic acid (C18:1 n-9) can be beneficial in sparing the other essential fatty acids.
